COVID-19 Precautions, Safety & Infection Control
Our team at Happy Trails Children’s Dentistry is meticulous and vigilant in all day-to-day cleaning and infection protocols. With the current COVID-19 precautions, we have gone above and beyond for the safety of our patients, staff and community.
Here are some of the added measures we’ve taken on a daily basis to provide a clean and safe space:
– Frequent hand washing for all team members
– Social distancing measures in place throughout the office
– HEPA Air Filters from Surgically Clean Air used throughout the office
– Multiple hand sanitizing stations
– Automatic door sensors
– Contactless bathroom appliances
– Clean PPE (personal protective equipment, including masks, gloves, gowns and eyewear) used for patient care
– Frequent disinfection of high traffic areas and surfaces
– Medical grade disinfectants used on all equipment and surfaces (including dental chairs, lights, and handpicks).
– One-time disposable dental materials used where possible (polishing brush, suction straw etc.)
– Sterilized instruments for each patient and procedure
We also ask patients and their parent/guardian to follow our COVID-19 procedures when arriving for their appointment for everyone’s continued health and safety.
1) We request that the parent and patient wait in their car until the scheduled appointment time.
2) We have created a hygiene station where parents and patients will be asked to sanitize their hands prior to entering our facility.
3) We require the parent and patient (over 2 years old) to wear a mask when present in our facility.
4) We will take and record the temperature of both the patient and parent prior to entering the facility.
5) We have limited the number of patients in our office at a time to control social distancing and traffic flow.
6) In addition, we have committed to take and record the temperature of all staff members twice daily.
7) To reduce contact surfaces, we continue to operate as a paperless office environment.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we continue to abide by the guidelines from the Alberta Dental Association, The Alberta Provincial Government, and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
Our team is eager to care for your little ones. We pride ourselves in taking the utmost care and compassion, in addition to these guidelines. We want you to feel comfortable and confident when visiting us. Our team truly looks forward to caring for your child’s oral health in a safe and controlled environment.
